Here are some of the SaaS resources that have been useful to me and my companies over the years. Let me know (email, contact form, or LinkedIn) if you have suggestions to add to it, or just to let me know if any of these have been useful to you too! -wim
Dan has some fantastic educational videos. He’s been there & done that in the SaaS world. Spending a couple hours watching his videos could literally save you millions of dollars going down dead end paths. His website is https://www.danmartell.com/, and you can watch his videos at https://www.youtube.com/user/danvmartell/videos. The videos are typically only 5-10 minutes, so you can squeeze them in anytime.
Mixergy – Learn from proven entrepreneurs
Andrew Warner has interviewed over 1500 entrepreneurs and founders. They are all around an hour and very well done. There is a mobile app to help with queueing them up for listening. https://mixergy.com/interviews/
SaaStr has an overwhelming amount of high quality content for SaaS companies. Hence you should definitely go through Dan Martell’s free content first to wrap your head around the basics. But then as you start to build out a team and product, SaaStr becomes invaluable. Here is perhaps the best starting point for the “Best Of SaaStr”: https://www.saastr.com/best-of-saastr/
Open View Partners – Newsletter/blog for Product-led-growth SaaS
OpenView is an expansion stage VC (Venture Capitalist). They have a ton of great content for SaaS companies, especially in the areas of customer success and Product Led Growth (PLG). Definitely check out their blog and signup to their weekly newsletter. I always get a nugget out of it. https://openviewpartners.com/blog
Traction EOS – Entrepreneurial Operating System
We have been using Traction as the “operating system” of our business since around the year 2010. Even though our execution has never been perfect, it still has helped us to crystallize our core values, mission, vision, put in proper daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual meeting processes, better metrics etc. Using something like Traction, Rockefeller Habits, Scaling Up, or the Metronome Growth System one-page plan system is highly recommend.
