Today is World Penguin Day! As our Crafty Penguins company name is obviously derived from Penguins, and particular Tux who is the Linux Mascot, we are giving these lovely birds some homage today. Crafty Penguins is the brand of the Linux professional services division of Kerkhoff Technologies Inc.
Riddle provided by my 9-year old son: What side of a penguin has the most feathers? The 7th person to email us the correct answer (no cheating!) will receive a penguin stuffy!
Did you know?
- Penguins are flightless birds! Instead of usable wings, they have flippers to help them swim in the water.
- They can drink salty sea water, and hold their breath underwater for 20 minutes.
- The largest of the 17 or 18 penguin species in the Emperor Penguin. There are over a 1/2 million of them. They incubate their eggs like other birds, except in -50C (-58F) temperatures!
- Penguin Day is when the Adelie penguins begin their migration north toward Antarctica.
